Junior Match
The first competitive junior match took place on the new courts on July 12th 2008 against Appleton Wiske. Leake WON - congratulations to Tilly Densley, Joe Dickinson, Gabriel Hopkinson, Scott Mogridge and Chris Jackman.
Family Day & Barbeque
A barbeque and tennis for all the family is planned for Sunday 13th July 2-5pm - £2/person, £1/young junior. Salads and refreshments will be provided but please bring your own meat. Please telephone Louise on 01845 537654 if you would like to come as this will help catering arrangements.
Junior Club Champion 2008
This tournament took place on Saturday 5th July despite very damp conditions. The barbeque afterwards was enjoyed by all. Thank you to all the parents who came along to help at the event. Congratulations go to Oliver Baldwin who is the Junior Club Champion of 2008.
Wimbledon Tickets June 2008
The lucky winners of the Winbledon ticket draw were Michael Hunter, Dave Burrell, Sonja van der Westhuizen, Louise Morgan Williams and Margaret Sykes. Next year Wimbledon tickets will ONLY be available to members who are also British Tennis Members. Membership to this is FREE for juniors and adults until 2012. All children will be sent a 'goody' bag and it is an opportunity for competitive juniors and adults to receive an LTA rating. OPEN DAY
On Sunday 22nd June at 1pm the new tennis courts will be OPEN for EVERYONE to play - young children, teenagers, students and adults, members AND non-members - FREE.
A great chance to see if it could be the sport for you
Come on your own or with friends or family.
Rackets and balls can be provided (for adults AND children)
Ball machine on court for stroke practise.
Refreshments available.

Hillside Scouts on court
The courts have been booked by the local scout group: Friday 20th June 7-9pm.
New Courts
Please note that you must wear NON-MARKING TRAINERS on the new courts. Keys for the new courts can be obtained from Jim Densley on 01845 526682.
Coaching for Primary school children
Ralph Windwood started the coaching sessions on Thursday June 5th (See 'Juniors'). There are still a few places available. Contact Carolyn Mullins for further details.
Coaching 2008 Winners
Sam Dickinson, Chris Jackman, Jim Densley and Jonathan Bark were the tournament winners. The most improved award went to Kate Burrell. Congratulations! There will be the possibility of further coaching sessions with Ralph in September. Tel 01845 537580 if you are interested.
WEDNESDAY Club Night
From 4th June the adults who attended coaching in April/May will continue to meet and play on Wednesdays 6.30pm onwards. All student and adult members are welcome to join them. This will be INSTEAD of Monday Club Night.
Junior Tournament & BBQ
A Tournament and BBQ will be held on Saturday 5th July 4.30-6pm and will be open to all 11-15 year olds. £2/member, £3/non-member. SPECTATORS WELCOME. Tickets can be purchased on Junior Club Evenings or by telephoning 01845 537580. Junior Club Evening
Junior Club Evenings have been very well attended so they will re-start after the half term holiday: Saturdays 4.30-5.30pm, 7th June until 28th June. Bring friends. FREE to members, non-members £2/evening. Drinks & snacks on sale.
